The Jeonju Gamaek Festival was held on June 8 and ran for three days, drawing a total of 126,000 visitors. This year marked the 12th edition of the event; centered at Jeonju Gongjang, it showcased barley beer produced in Hanan as well as local craft breweries, attracting both residents and tourists.

The festival was organized by Haitejinro and conducted in cooperation with the Jeonbuk University Commerce Association. Inside the venue a new concept called “Beer Experience” was introduced to let visitors taste the fresh flavors of the beer. This year they also launched new items such as “Terra Sparkling”, the non‑alcoholic product “Terra Zero”, and take‑out booths for the beer, broadening visitors’ choice.

The event featured fireworks, DJ performances, a ‘Moch Certificate’ issuance, and other interactive programs. In addition to these experiences, attendees could participate directly in events rather than just watching. A Haitejinro spokesperson said “We will continuously expand opportunities for consumers to experience beer through local festivals.”

Partners included about 60 cafés and restaurants; they recorded visitor numbers roughly twice as usual. The Jeonbuk University Commerce Association noted that the festival’s success spread to nearby commercial areas, with a positive impact on the local economy.
