In July, the sale of health‑food items that began in about 6,000 retail outlets nationwide has shown a steady growth trend. During this period, average prices were kept below 5,000 won while focusing on small‑size and small‑packaged goods; total sales exceeded 130,000 units, establishing a new business momentum. Building on this success, CU plans to add more than 2,000 health‑food operating points this year.

CU’s expansion plan strengthens the small‑package and small‑packaged product lines while also expanding collaboration with domestic and overseas health‑food brands. For example, “Rothbeng” (German brand) is scheduled for launch on the 18th of next month, and the following month will see the introduction of a multi‑vitamin product from Jonggeundang & Co. In addition, CU is preparing diverse lineups such as “Multivitamin Larky Energy Shake” using the Pocket Monster character, and drinks containing natural fruit extracts such as “Tiger Morning Juice” and “Tiger Morning Berry.”

BGF Retail’s merchandiser (MD) Park Su‑rim said that “CU will continue to expand its health‑food operating points in order to meet customers’ health‑management needs and lead the convenience store healthcare market.” He added, “Small‑package and small‑packaged products lower purchasing burden while contributing to sales growth.”
