Survey results show that most respondents in a study conducted on South Korea’s 50‑to‑60 age group stated that existing health‑management methods are insufficient. Many opinions expressed that more systematic preventive and management measures should be pursued to prepare for sudden illnesses and chronic diseases.
The survey found that 61 % of the 50‑to‑60 group answered that “the current health‑management is a risk response system.” This indicates that existing insurance and medical systems fail to adequately reflect individual circumstances and disease probabilities. Accordingly, there was a call for the necessity of customized insurance solutions.
The survey also emphasized that a comprehensive health safety net should be built through the use of healthcare services and smart healthcare technologies. By integrating insurance products designed for individual living environments and health conditions with digital platforms, efficiency can be increased at preventive, diagnostic, and treatment stages.
