Companies such as Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix are expected to expand their gains as AI model performance improves. As of 2023, competition among global AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) model developers is intensifying, and with increased memory supply leading to price rises, the market cycle is predicted to accelerate.
Kim Dong-won, director of KB증권 Research Department, explained the future market changes in a report released on the 9th: “OpenAI’s new model GPT‑6 Astra has entered the initial general AI stage, and it is expected that a new 4.0 model will be launched in Q4.” He added that in the first half of 2024, OpenAI and Anthropic are expected to follow up with next‑generation models.
With both U.S.-based frontier models and Chinese efficiency‑oriented models improving performance and cost simultaneously, AI compute demand and token consumption are projected to surge sharply. Accordingly, the memory market is forecasted to become most tightly supplied, largely driven by a 70% long‑term supply constraint (LTA)–centric production distribution.
Hypercube’s FCF is expected to double from 2028 onward; Amazon and Google Cloud businesses’ operating profits are projected to be 61% and 45%, respectively, averaging around 53%. With improved cloud profitability, CAPA will likely remain pre‑booked up to 2028.
