Lotte Energy has been showing remarkable growth in both the battery market for electric vehicles and the ESS (energy storage system) battery market since the end of 2026. The company announced that its target share price would be raised from ₩51,000 to ₩55,000, maintaining a “buy” stance among investors.

As the supply chain for EV parts expands rapidly, demand for those parts is also increasing. NH 투자증권 researcher Kim Joo-woo said, “The battery sales of OEM and Samsung SDI are rising together, and AI parts are also exploding in volume.” He added that especially ESS parts have become cheaper due to a concentrated strategy by global competitors, resulting in greater market share.

Lotte Energy announced that from 2027 it intends to set the price at $1–$2 per kilogram for its batteries (about 25–50% of the current level). This change is expected to lift annual operating profit to about ₩50 billion. Accordingly, sales volume has also risen sharply: from 29 000 tonnes in 2026 it rose 31% to 30 000 tonnes, and is projected to reach 44 000 tonnes by 2027.

The new products have a high yield and low initial operating cost, making the business expansion favorable. NH 투자증권’s estimate of Q3 sales for 2026 was ₩263.4 billion, an 83% increase over the same period last year; operating loss was ₩2.29 billion, which is a larger margin than the market average.

The part sales rose to 8 400 tonnes, up 83% from the same quarter last year and improved by 37% compared with the previous quarter, but ESS parts such as 6‑micro‑cubic‑meter (㎛) parts and high‑performance HVP3·4 grade parts still bear initial operating costs; thus it is expected to remain in deficit until early 2027. The chief researcher said that “the HVLP3 grade CPU part has been launched since August, yet the yield improvement potential remains, while the HVLP4 grade GPU part has not entered the launch stage yet.” Accordingly, from Q2 of 2027 a full conversion is expected to be possible.
