Boston Dynamics announced today (October 7, 2026) that it has hired Orion Parsaad, former CEO of Amazon, as a senior executive. Parsaad brings experience designing and developing leading AI platforms such as Alexa and Nova.

Boston Dynamics aims to strengthen its competitiveness in the “Future AI” domain using this talent.

As former CEO of Parsaad, he led Amazon’s core technology for Alexa and the development of general‑purpose AGI, overseeing the entire product line of Nova. His role focused on driving the integration of AI and robotics to pioneer “Future AI.” He worked at Amazon for 14 years, including at Raytheon BBN Technologies, where he participated in machine learning research and applied technology development targeting U.S. government and industry sectors.

Boston Dynamics plans to leverage Parsaad’s experience to deploy intelligent robotic systems in real industrial settings and accelerate commercialization. Through Hyundai Motor Group’s manufacturing, logistics, and mobility sites, the company intends to demonstrate AI‑robotics capabilities and strengthen its execution from early research through productization.

To secure differentiated competitiveness in the “Future AI” arena, the company will combine its robotics technology with Parsaad’s business experience to create new value within the group.

Finally, Boston Dynamics highlighted that it will leverage its Boston-based talent pool, research institutions, and startup ecosystem for global expansion and collaboration. Parsaad said, “With robotics at a pivotal turning point, joining Boston Dynamics is an honor,” adding, “By fusing cutting‑edge AI and robotics, we aim to create meaningful value in the real world, extend robotics application across industries, and build intelligent systems that will lead new advances in Future AI.”

This talent acquisition signals a critical step for Boston Dynamics to secure a leading position in the future robotics market.
