Ottu Co., Ltd. announced on the 13th that it will adjust the selling prices of some products in order to ease the cost burden arising from increases in major raw materials and packaging costs as well as currency fluctuations. The adjustments are scheduled to take effect through Daehyung Mart beginning September 7.

The company decided to raise the price of its 11 cup noodle brands (29 items in total) and 3 Mandu brands (16 items). On average, the price hike is about 6.7% for Cup Noodles and around 7.7% for Mandu. According to Daehyung Mart’s pricing, the 110‑g pack of “Jin Ramen” and the 105‑g pack of “Yeol Ramen” will be increased from ₩1,200 to ₩1,300 each; meanwhile the “Cham Kkae Ramen” (110 g) will rise from ₩1,400 to ₩1,550. The flagship Mandu item ‘X.O. Kyoga (324 g×2)’ will be raised from ₩14,800 to ₩14,480.

Ottu stated that it intends to exclude all “bongji ramen” items—those constituting about 60% of its total noodle sales—from the price‑increase plan in order to minimize consumer burden. This adjustment follows a similar move made last July when the company raised selling prices for 29 items, including curry (6.1%), spicy (10.0%), ketchup (6.1%) and sauce (17.0%) categories, due to rises in raw materials and packaging costs.

A company spokesperson said that “to ease the cost burden caused by increases in major raw material and packaging prices as well as currency fluctuations, a price increase for some products was necessary.” He added that the bongji ramen lines would maintain their current prices while trying to minimize the impact of the hike.
