KOSDAQ opened at 843.99 on February 20, up 19.53 points from the previous day, above yesterday’s close of 824.46 and rising 2.37%. That day KOSDAQ broke through the 840 level and showed strong performance during the session.

At the same time, KOSPI also opened at 6 680.34, up 209.17 points from the previous day, rising 3.23%; both indices began the market with a positive tone. With KOSPI’s strength, KOSDAQ moved in tandem with the capital market and continued an upward trend during the session.

KOSDAQ has recently displayed volatility with large swings. On February 14 it closed at 864.65, up 3.28 points from the previous day; it had risen to 868.07 early in the session. The opening on February 20 was lower than the closing of February 14, but after a decline the previous day it rebounded. Ten days earlier it closed at 854.47, rose 6.97% and broke through the 850 line. After that, on February 11 and 14 it closed at 857.84 and 864.65 respectively, continuing an upward trend near 860.

The short‑term rebound is attributed to supply changes and policy expectations. KOSDAQ increased 18.72% last month up to the 10th; institutional investors net purchased 1.224 trillion KRW during that period. Along with that, the opening reflects a trend but does not indicate direction or final level. Future index may fluctuate based on buy/sell orders, sector swings, top‑company movements.
