Bamboo Insurance Services (뱀부) filed its S‑1 registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on March 28, entering the process for listing on the New York Stock Exchange. The company has applied to use the ticker “BMB” and is proceeding through all necessary steps to go public. At this stage it is still undergoing SEC review; a definitive listing date has not yet been set.
The core of Bamboo’s business model is its home‑insurance management platform, MGU (Home Insurance Management General Utility). Rather than evaluating risks directly, the platform works with insurers and reinsurers to design products, conduct underwriting, handle claims payments, and provide a single integrated solution. Using automated underwriting and data‑analytics technology, the platform aims to efficiently assess risk and price home‑insurance products in the market.
The company plans to expand its operations based on California’s wildfire‑risk regions, emphasizing rapid deployment, data‑driven underwriting, and distributed insurance provider collaboration. This strategy seeks to reduce complexity in the home‑insurance market through technology and deliver transparent service to customers.
After a capital‑raising transaction with CVC in October 2025, Bamboo reportedly sold about 77% of its shares to related funds. Such structured financing strengthens the company’s growth foundation. Financial results show that first‑half 2026 sales reached $173 million (about KRW 239.1 billion), exceeding last year’s $124 million (about KRW 171.4 billion). Home insurance premiums also rose from 2025, and recent 12‑month operating income was $879 million (about KRW 1.215 trillion).
While the U.S. IPO market has largely focused on large transactions, Bamboo is poised to go public as an AI‑based home‑insurance company. This represents a case of a firm straddling insurance and technology sectors receiving market evaluation, distinct from companies that simply sell existing AI products.
Bamboo Insurance Services’ proposed business model and financial performance have the potential to create new value in the home‑insurance market. With its listing process underway, when its vision comes to fruition, it is expected to stand out as a newly emerging AI‑based insurance platform on U.S. exchanges.
