Evernos is a publicly listed company in the United States, and it has recently appointed former Coinbase investment professional Jang Deboz as its Chief Investment Officer (CIO). This appointment is not merely about maintaining holdings but is a strategic move to strengthen liquidity management and active deployment. Evernos announced on the 12th (current local time) that Jang Deboz had been named the new CIO.
Jang Deboz previously served as co‑Chief Investment Officer at Coinbase, where he oversaw tailored investment strategies for institutional investors. He was responsible for managing counterparties and custodial institutions, and held overall responsibility for asset allocation and liquidity management. Evernos has clarified that the core of its XRP financing strategy is twofold: holding and active deployment. Jang Deboz will focus on distinguishing these two modes and establishing a risk‑management framework and investment principles that align with the company’s objectives.
In this context, Evernos intends to move beyond merely holding XRP and pursue an active financing strategy. This requires clear investment rules and a robust risk‑management system. Jang Deboz has more than ten years of experience managing portfolios in both traditional financial markets and digital asset markets; he also served as a derivatives trading manager at Coinbase. He has a background in trading U.S. dollar and G10 currency swaps and other interest‑rate derivative products at HSBC New York.
Evernos is pushing forward with institutional‑client deployment strategies and diversified income strategies by increasing its XRP holdings. The long‑term goal is to increase the amount of XRP held per share, and it has confirmed that on the 9th it entered into a cash‑settled contract with investors who had purchased shares at settlement time, issuing 1,078,614 Class‑A common shares. This was an error in its previous SEC filing of 663,510 shares. The number of shares issued was calculated by dividing the cash or XRP paid into the company by $10 per share.
Alongside these actions, Evernos began its first trade at a price of $16.91, which is 1.38% above the benchmark. This announcement clarifies the strategic direction for holding XRP and the role of Jang Deboz, providing confidence to both investors and market participants.
