In an essay titled “We Must Pace the Frontier” released by Diaro Amodei (CEO) and chief AI executive on September 12, he proposed that the U.S. and China agree to slow down AI development and restrict high‑risk uses.
Amodei noted that the speed of AI model development could be better served by focusing on safety and alignment research, and argued that “a frontier AI development pace adjustment is necessary.”
