According to exchange data on October 26‑27, the proportion of top traders changed significantly. An analysis of long/short positions over 7‑day, 24‑hour and 30‑day periods in four major DEXs—HyperLiquid, Rayter, dYdX, Pashfika—showed that the share of long positions among top traders rose from 7 % to 12 %, corresponding to about $396 million, while short positions were around $3.031 billion.
Looking closely at the 7‑day changes, longs increased by 52 people and shorts by 62, expanding total positions to $80 million. This is about 1.7 times higher than previous period; shorts fell slightly from $3.031B to $3.242B. The change in share rose from 7 % to 12 %, with ZEC and HYPE highlighted.
In the 24‑hour group, longs were around $278 million, shorts $2.529 billion, both decreasing by $50M and $54M respectively compared with previous period; shares fell about 1 percentage point. Meanwhile BTC had 72 longs and 139 shorts, about $851M long and $850M short.
ETH showed the largest changes across all three periods. In the 24‑hour group, longs were $724 million, shorts $910 million, shares of 98 % and 88 %. ZEC and HYPE had the biggest shifts in the 7‑day period; especially ZEC had 52 longs and 62 shorts, total position about $868 million.
For HYPE, in the 7‑day group, longs were 50 people and shorts 111, share rose from 6 % to 15 %. Shorts fell from $360 million to $211 million while longs grew from $20 million to $36 million. Such changes could significantly affect overall positions.
Analytically, such data does not determine market direction alone; the 7‑day period is re‑adjusted daily so if top traders increase rank, long share may expand. However each exchange only records top 100 positions, so fluctuations of large positions can influence overall.
Finally, noting that ZEC and HYPE increased long shares along with recent price rises, investors should recognize that current positions do not guarantee future performance.
