South Korea’s stock market has recently shown sharp volatility, which is increasing investors’ unease. The daily market changes impose lower yields on investors than before, creating a burden for them, and also hamper corporate fundraising. In such circumstances investors are turning their eyes to large projects such as redevelopment and reconstruction, which hold the possibility of generating new opportunities in the construction and real‑estate sector.

First, development and real‑estate investment is two issues that have recently gained a lot of attention. Redevelopment and reconstruction are processes that upgrade land use and structure, allowing construction firms to raise funds more flexibly while also being able to provide positive impacts on local economies. Nevertheless, discussions about real‑estate investment are emerging. In order to do so, the procedures and key points associated with redeveloping and reconstruction have to be clarified; this can bring benefits across the entire real‑estate industry.

Second, a study was performed on price changes over one month for 68 major suppliers that include Hyundai Motor among them. The most striking field turned out to be auto parts and accessories. In particular, companies related with electronics and similar fields showed upward trend in prices. These findings point that the fundamental demand of the automobile industry is rising.

Finally, a Korean company has announced that it will launch a service called “Dollar Coin” for online video streaming (OTT) subscription payment. The firm uses existing credit‑card payment methods to allow users to pay easily while offering various advantages. This innovation strengthens competition in the OTT market and offers investors a new business model.
