At the end of 2023, Daishin Securities adjusted its target for next year’s KOSPI upper bound to 8,200 points, reflecting rising interest rates and concerns about AI investment. This is a result of considering recent economic slowdown fears along with the growth potential in artificial intelligence. In a report released on the 27th, Daishin presented this new target range as 5,200–8,200 points, revising the forecast from the end‑September 6‑month outlook that had predicted 6,000–9,300 points.
The report states that it positively evaluates the potential for companies’ stock prices to rise, based on solid performance in semiconductor, aerospace and bio sectors. In particular, in the semiconductor field, growth indicators such as PER 3× (Amara) are increasing investor interest, while aerospace and bio industries are expected to continue with strong results and prospects.
Such analysis appears to increase Daishin Securities’ credibility in its market strategy and strengthen its position in the domestic equity market. Investors should watch how this target adjustment will affect KOSPI performance going forward, and decide based on multi‑angle financial outlooks and corporate results.
