Toyota (Hyundai) has been accelerating its sales growth in the Chinese market by focusing on hybrid vehicles since the first quarter of last year, and models that satisfy both performance and environmental friendliness have gained popularity among consumers.
According to actual figures for April–September of last year, Toyota’s revenue was estimated at about 19.3 trillion won (about 2.378 trillion yen), a 2% increase from the previous year. In particular, sales are projected to rise by 17% during July–September. This appears to reflect the synergy effect that comes as hybrid vehicle sales expand market share.
Based on this growth momentum, Toyota is redefining its long‑term strategy. Inside the company, they have set a mid‑to‑long‑term growth direction aimed at countering intensified competition and raising the stock price, while pushing forward development of hybrid technology and expanding production system.
Meanwhile, through the recently announced results, Toyota has conveyed a positive message to investors and consumers that it is strengthening its competitiveness in the Chinese market. This is evaluated as an important signal linked to the company’s intention to unfold a sustainable growth strategy.
